About Kintsugi Jewelry
What is Kintsugi?
Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese technique for repairing broken pottery with gold, embracing imperfections as part of an object’s history. Our jewelry is inspired by this philosophy, celebrating uniqueness and resilience.
For inquiries about my jewelry, shipping, media inquiries, collaborations, and other matters, please feel free to use the form below or email me at miki[at]japonicajewelry.com.
I always love hearing from those who are interested in my brand! I strive to reply within 48 hours, except during weekends and public holidays in Japan.
If you have a question about a specific item, please include the SKU number, which can be found at the end of the product description. Thank you!
Are your pieces made with real gold?
No, to keep our jewelry accessible and affordable, we use bronze powder with a tarnish-prevention treatment to highlight the repaired areas.
Are your pieces made from real broken pottery?
Yes! Each piece is crafted from authentic, repurposed Japanese ceramics.
Are the materials you use nickel-free?
Yes, both our 14k gold-filled and surgical stainless steel chains and clasps are nickel-free. If you have sensitive skin, we recommend choosing surgical stainless steel, which is considered more hypoallergenic. However, reactions can vary depending on the individual and circumstances.
How should I care for my Kintsugi jewelry?
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Wipe with a soft cloth after wearing.
- Remove before bathing or swimming.
- Avoid direct contact with chemicals, such as perfumes or cleaning agents.
